Unit 1

Unit 1 - Understand the fundamentals of sport and event industries

Information

In this unit, we learned about how there are many different jobs in sports and event marketing, and with many different responsibilities and tasks. We learned about the motives behind a purchase and what makes a person buy something or take part in an event, and we learned about the impacts events and sports have on communities.

Unit 2

Unit 2 - Understand sport and event marketing

Information

In this unit, we learned about what consumers are interested in sports and events, how to target specific markets, and how to find trends. We learned about mass marketing and segmented marketing, and the benefits of each approach. We also learned about trends in different industries, how to find and appeal to them, and current sport and event trends.

Unit 3

Unit 3 - Data

Information

In this unit, we learned about data, how to find it, and what ways it can be useful. We learned about the ethics of using data, primary vs secondary data, qualitative and quantitative data, and when and why to use each kind. We also learned about the sources of data, how it can be used in sports, and the impact of data on marketing.
